Looking on the bright side…

The Dow just plunged 500+ points. Anxiety has gripped the Eurozone, and the panic is spreading across the Atlantic. Unemployment rates aren’t budging, except to periodically (and unexpectedly) head further downward. Still, there’s a silver lining to all of this chaos and misery: The BROKERS WITH HANDS ON THEIR FACES BLOG is once again active.

Correction time! Feel the burn!

Before today, the last update to the blog was waaay back at the beginning of May. Back then people were still able to convince themselves that the fecal matter wasn’t slowly and inevitably approaching the fan. The stream of exasperated broker photos slowed to a trickle, then ceased entirely following the post-QE2 market euphoria.

Now, as the frightening reality of our economic situation becomes increasingly visible, we should all join these intrepid, battered brokers in raising our hands to furrowed brows and letting out a mighty sigh. It might not make us feel any better, but hey–at least we can take some solace in the fact that these guys probably just lost a positively embarassing amount of money.

Full disclosure: I’m long pictures of Brokers With Hands on Their Faces
